Now
that the season has completely finished these are the
Bowling achievements the
Club has gained in this 2001 bowling year.
The
Premier League team sponsored by,
JRogers
& Sons
& Shropshire
Trophy & Bowling Centre,
became runners-up this season,
because of a slow start and we all know the Fields
are bad starters, it enabled St Georges to pull
well ahead of all the teams, and at the half way point
they looked like the season was already won and
the Dragons could not be caught, as Captain Tony
Poole stated at the start of the season, "its
not what you win at home that matters it will be
the away wins that will be the deciding
factor" and these words proved to be the
case, last year St Georges came to Castlefields
& went home with their tails between there
legs after losing 13/1, this year with tails in
the air they managed to score 5 which could easily
of been six but I am sure Barry Keep will remember
his final end where he played a wonder bowl to
enable the back four to score at least one.
