On a sunny but cold day a great crowd watched some excellent bowling during the Brass Meole Brace Open held on Sunday 7th April 02 at Meole Brace Bowling Club.

The winner after some great bowling was the current Britain's No 1 Graham Wilson from Oldham & playing Meole for the first time, the other finalist Battlefield & County star Colin Beaman put up a brave fight when taking Graham into the corners, marks which Colin played very well all day & on both greens, but the British number one soon got a better length & took Colin on a short mark of about 23 yards across the middle of the green & as Charlie Weaver found early in the semis, Wilson proved to up unbeatable.
